Kathua DDC reviews progress on PMGSY road projects

KATHUA, Aug 27: District Development commissioner, Kathua Om Parkash Bhagat, today reviewed the progress under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) here at a meeting.
The DDC took project wise review of the progress of the roads under construction in the district. The issues related to clearance from the Forest Department, land acquisition and other issues were discussed in the meeting.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY was asked to resolve the issues and pace up the construction work for time bound completion of the roads.
Meanwhile, the DDC reviewed the progress on saturation of Kisan Credit Cards in a meeting with Agriculture Department and Bankers.
During the meeting, he stressed upon the officers to ensure the maximum coverage of the eligible farmers.
The DDC took stock of the pending cases for sanction under KCC scheme from the Manager LEAD Bank. Strict instructions were passed to the Agriculture Department, Bankers and Revenue department for speedy clearance of pending KCC cases to achieve 100% target. He asked the concerned departments to mobilize their field staff to create awareness regarding the KCC scheme.
In another meeting, he discussed and reviewed progress under education Schemes, ICDS and Social Welfare sectors.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held regarding scholarships for students, various pension schemes, marriage assistance, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAF) and NFSA were discussed.
The progress under Ladali Beti and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao schemes was also reviewed in the meeting. The DDC directed the concerned departments to achieve 100% Aadhaar seeding in the district.
He stressed upon the departments to ensure effective and transparent implementation of the schemes to ensure that the benefits percolate down to the eligible beneficiaries.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Chief Agriculture Officer, Arun Gupta; Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Kathua and Billawar and officers of concerned departments.
