SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Satish Mahaldar, Chairman, Reconciliation, Return & Rehabilitations of Migrants (RRRM) has dared National Conference President Farooq Abdullah to quit as Member of Parliament and then talk about issues like Article 370 and restoration of statehood to Jammu & Kashmir.
“Let all political leaders including Farooq Abdullah give up government benefit like houses, security, perks & others. Then we would consider their seriousness on making the demand for restoration of statehood.
Jammu & Kashmir is passing through a critical period and it is all the more necessary for all of us to support a leader or a party who ensures rights, liberties of all the citizens, including those of the minorities are protected,” said Mahaldar.
The RRRM Chairman said that after the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A till date not a single regional and national leader nor any political party has come forward to speak on the plight as well as miseries of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said the leaders who were released almost five months ago never spoke anything on the restoration of statehood till August 24, 2020.
Mahaldar said that NC President never talked about return of Kashmiri Pandits nor any political leader of the hue has ever in word or deed talked about the return, safeguarding and justice to the beleaguered minority communities in Kashmir, be they Kashmiri Pandits or Sikhs. The majority population leadership of Jammu and Kashmir has failed to protect the rights of the people, including rights and respect of the minorities of Kashmir, he said.
“The mainstream politicians have miserably failed to protect Right to equality, Right to Freedom, Right against exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights and Right to Constitutional remedies.
These rights have been denied to minorities of Kashmir since 1947. Reconciliation, Return & Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit Migrants since September 15, 2019 has been fighting alone for the rights of J&K people,” said RRRM Chairman.
Mahaldar said that RRRM will support any political party, any individual on restoration of statehood, who would ensure return of Kashmiri Pandit migrants back to the valley and ensure that they are rehabilitated with honour.
He said that RRRM will support any political party and any individual who would ensure rights of minorities such Kashmiri Pandits, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians are restored.
