JAMMU, Aug 27: A delegation led by Chairman Transport Nagar Association (TNA) today called on Vice-Chairperson (VC) JDA and projected demands and problems of the Transport Nagar, Jammu. The delegation led by its chairman Rahul Sahai submitted a memorandum seeking to initiate a development drive for Transport Nagar to VC JDA, Babila Rakwal. Sahai sensitized VC JDA about works done last year by the then VC JDA in which 800 mtr main road was made but small patch of tile work is still pending. The memorandum submitted to the VC, JDA listed various other issues of Transport Nagar including black topping roads of entire Transport Nagar, regular paid sanitation services, lighting, handing over Transport Nagar to other departments like PWD for maintaining roads, JMC for sanitation and drainage, cleaning of drainage system, cleaning and repair of Nallahs, anti-encroachment drive, opening of Sulabh Shauchalyas, parking concerns and time bound transfer of property . VC JDA Babila Rakwal after having one hour deliberations sensitized delegation that JDA is having shortage of funds to do all the works in one go so VC JDA suggests to pick up four issues which included completion of pending tile works in 800 mtr main road, sanitation , lighting ,highmast lights, cleaning of existing drainage system and nallahs besides anti-encroachment drive . Rakwal told the delegation that she will talk to Commissioner JMC regarding sanitation and get it started but shopkeepers have to pay charges honestly otherwise they will be penalized.
She said that as a pilot project sanitization will be started in yard 6 and after that will include other yards.
