| PNB employee died, two injured as boulder hit vehicle | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Aug 27: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old Punjab National Bank (PNB) employee died and two others got injured when a boulder hit their vehicle near Udhampur’s Kheri area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The deceased bank employee was identified as Sudhir Choudhary son of Romesh Choudhary of Raghunath Pura, Shiv Nagar Udhampur. He was posted at PNB’s Samroli branch.
Deceased along with other colleagues was on way to Samroli from Udhampur in a car when the boulder from the hillock fell on their vehicle near Kheri.
A Quick Response Team from Jakheni after getting information swung into action and the injured were immediately evacuated to District Hospital Udhampur where from Sudhir Choudhary, who was seriously injured was referred to GMC Jammu.
Choudhary later succumbed to his injuries. His body was handed over to his family for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
The condition of rest of the injured was stated to be stable, a police official said.
