Bani, Sept 1: Department of Physical Education and Sports of Government Degree College Bani organized an online national level sports quiz competition to mark “The National Sports Day”. A large number of students from different college and institutes from inside and outside of UT of J&K participated in the competition viz Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, S.N Sen B.V.P.G College Kanpur, Kashmir University, Jammu University, Govt. college of engineering and technology Jammu, various college of Kashmir and Jammu division etc. participated in the event. The programme was organized by Physical Training instructor Roshan Lal Sharma and coordinated by Prof. Sanjeev Verma, HOD Maths, Prof. Rajeev Singh HOD EVS and Dr. Ram Krishan. The competition was held under the guidance and over all supervision of college Principal, Dr. M. S. Pathania. In the quiz competition first position was shared by 32 participants, second position was shared by 24 participants and third position was shared by 19 participants. In this competition 101 students qualified the Quiz competition and were provided with E-Certificates of Participation which were generated online. The National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29th of August to commemorate Birth Anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand, who won gold medal in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932 and 1936.
