Inauguration of vital assets marks end of phase I in Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 4: The first leg of Back to Village-3 (B2V3) ended with inauguration of several new assets in 68 Panchayats across 7 blocks of Kathua district.
District Development Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat attended B2V activities in different Panchayats of Block Dhar-Mahanpur. The inhabitants of these Panchayats apprised the DDC about problems faced by them which were mainly related to provision of drinking water, uninterrupted electricity and road connectivity etc. Assuring early redress, the DDC issued telephonic instructions to the concerned departments and asked them to address the genuine demands on priority.
While interacting with public, the DDC said the aim of B2V-3 was to empower Panchayats, ensure village level development, and grassroots level planning thus giving push to the developmental pace in rural areas.
The DDC also distributed 20 Domicile Certificates to the applicants of the area.
At Block Basohli, a tractor road was inaugurated by visiting officer Bharat Gupta at panchayat Saman . The road link has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.50 Lakh under 14 FC. Badminton and Volleyball matches were held at Panchayat Plahi between local teams, while Mahila Sabha and Greh Parvesh ceremony for PMAY beneficiaries were held at Preta Pancahyat. A Yoga session for children and Mahila sabha was also held at Panchayat Plassi. Construction of Rs 1.8 lac Bowli work under 14 FC, and construction of Kool coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 2 Lakh was also inspected by the visiting officer.
