Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 4: Not happy with inordinate delay in completion of various vital projects across J&K, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha made it clear on Sunday that those responsible for such misdeeds should be made answerable.
“Upon my arrival to J&K, I was surprised to notice unusual delays in projects, and I ensure that those responsible for unwarranted delays will be made answerable. Roadmaps for speedy execution have been made and delays will no more be part of the system” the Lt Governor said while addressing people at Panchayat Halqa, Ashthal, Kulgam during the Back to Village-3 programme.
From the day one after his appointment, Lieutenant Governor is working assiduously to ensure responsible and people friendly governance to the people.
Earlier on Saturday he has made it clear that people will get services at doorsteps; grievance redressal and on-spot delivery of public services is going to be institutionalized, while timelines of projects will be strictly monitored and no undue delays will be tolerated.
Lt Governor has reason to give warning to the bureaucrats responsible for delaying completion of the vital developmental projects because during political government adopting a casual approach in completing developmental projects has become a routine affair.
Sources in the corridors of power said that Lt Governor has already started the process to prepare a list of bureaucrats responsible who are responsible for delay in completion of important developmental projects across UT. “These officers are likely to face action very soon because Lt Governor is very particular about accelerating developmental activities in J&K to ensure equitable and balanced development”, sources said.
Lt Governor also lambasted those who indulged in selective condemnation of the violence in J&K. “Violence, killings of innocents should be condemned, whether it's the killings of common people or security forces. We can't be selective in condemning violence. I appeal to all to contribute towards peace. There is no dearth of opportunities for progress and peace”, he said.
