Mahilla & Bal Sabhas held in Jammu district on 3rd day of the B2V3

JAMMU, Oct 4: Mahila Sabhas and Bal Sabhas being important activities were held on Sunday- the 3rd day of the Back to village 3 here in the Panchayats of 5 blocks of Jammu district.
The Mahila Sabhas and Bal Sabhas were conducted in Panchayat Satwari and Darsopur of the Block Satwari and Miran Sahib, respectively.
The main aim of the Mahila Sabhas was to listen to the problems and grievances of the women and provide them a platform to raise their issues and demands.
It would not only increase their participation in the decision making and activities of the Panchayat but also aware them about different schemes and explore their employment through SHGs and Banks.
Several departmental representatives from Social Welfare, Health, Labour, RDD, Agriculture, Horticulture and others highlighted the schemes of their respective departments in these Sabhas.
The Bal Sabhas were held to provide a platform to the children between 5-18 years of age to discuss their issues and demands and put forth to the Panchayat for resolution.
It also provided them an opportunity to showcase and groom their talent, enhancing their participation in the different activities in the Panchayat. They were also made aware regarding eradication of social evils like gender discrimination; drug abuse, violence against girl child.
House warming ceremonies were also conducted in Panchayat Darsopur for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Grameen).
One of beneficiary Vicky, son of Sewa Ram was presented a gift of a pair of blankets by the Visiting Officer on the "Grah Pravesh".
Similar activities were also conducted in the other panchayats of the 5 blocks of the District Jammu viz Arnia, Suchetgarh, R.S.Pura, Miran Sahib and Satwari in which the Phase-I of the Back to Village-3 concluded on the third and final day on 4th of October 2020.
The next phase of B2V3 shall be conducted in the remaining 15 blocks of the District Jammu from 6th October 2020 to 8th October 2020.
