eaRLY TIMES rEPORT

JAMMU, Oct 4: B2V has finally caught the imagination of the rural communities across Jammu and Kashmir with focused development remaining main plank of this mega and ambitious centrally sponsored programme.
B2V-Back to Village programme- has brought cheer on the faces of the residents of various villages in R S Pura area with the launch of 700 meter road from Sai Kalan to Bhujh Japwal to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh. Essentially, a part of rural development initiative, these works are basically the long pending demands of the villagers, who will get connectivity with peripheral villages, benefitting all segments of the society including peasants, small traders, students and the commuters. As road communication is key to rural economy, these inter villages links will help farmers hassle free movement of their farm produce and eventually lead to their economic emancipation and empowerment.
This 700 meter span of border road, which will be connecting Arnia and Japwal blocks, would have about 8 culverts to facilitate the locals with enhanced road connectivity.
“The farmer’s community here used to suffer immense hardships during every season due to their inability to move their tractors for transportation of their basic requirements and farm produce as well.
This is the main road used by the farmers to reach their fields and its construction has taken place only due to government’s unique B2V initiative”, stated a local from the area while expressing gratitude to the administration for launching work on this prestigious road.
He said that the people here are very happy for construction of this all weather road and they have expressed their gratitude to the government for this vital service. He was optimistic that rural areas would definitely witness more such development works in days to come under Back to Village programme.
