Empowering, engaging , enabling PRIs prime resolve of Govt : Advisor Bhatnagar

SAMBA, Oct 7: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today visited Panchayat Halqa Ghagwal of Samba district in connection with Back to Village (B2V3) programme and interacted with large number of locals and PRI representatives regarding their developmental needs and aspirations.
Addressing a gathering of locals during the visit, Advisor Bhatnagar maintained that the prime resolve of present government is to empower, engage and enable the Panchayati Raj institutions for a holistic rural development. He added that PRI’s have been empowered so that local demands can be resolved at panchayat level only.
Advisor Bhatnagar further added that B2V will be a continuous process for achieving rural self governance.
The Advisor asked the people to come forward and avail benefits of welfare schemes of the government meant for different sections of the society to improve their socioeconomic condition. He impressed upon the PRI members and other representatives to plan out the development works of their respective panchayats in order to fulfil the aspirations of people regarding development at all levels.
Advisor Bhatnagar also chaired a Gram Sabha during the programme in which people from all sections of the society participated and projected the issues and demands regarding the development of the area.
During the Gram Sabha, BDC chairman, sarpanches, panches and locals highlighted several issues like maintenance of roads, uninterrupted power supply, supply of adequate drinking water, upgradation of Trauma Hospital at Ghagwal, availability of Medical staff, sanctioning of industrial centre, overbridge on National highway, Mineral blocks auctioning besides others issues related to development of the area.
Speaking during the Sabha, Advisor Bhatnagar assured the PRI representatives and public that their genuine demands and issues will be examined. He directed the officials of district administration to resolve expeditiously issues which are within there competence specially of maintenance.
On the occasion Advisor Bhatnagar also distributed sport kits including Badminton kits, volleyball kits, Cricket kit and others among sports persons and asked them to take part in sports continuously as it helps in overall well being of a person besides keeps away from illicit habits of drug abuse.
District Development Commissioner Samba Rohit Khajuria, SSP Samba, Rajesh Sharma, SDM Ghagwal, ACD, Samba, other district and sectoral officers and large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
