| Casual labourers of JKPDCL highlights their issues | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 7: A meeting of JPDCL/ JKPTCL Casual Labour Need Base Union of PDL/TDL was held today in the office premises of Chief Engineer, JPDCL, Canal Road, Jammu in which different aspects of casual labourers were discussed. It was stated in the meeting that 3169 Need Base Casual Labourers are working in the department for the last more than 15 years who are yet to be regularized. Out of these 2707 are getting their salaries and 462 workers are without NIC are not getting any salaries. The cases of 408 workers whose record are already pending with the Managing Director of JPDCL/JKPTCL and need to be sent to the Finance Department for NIC, so that they would also get their salaries. 99 Casual labourers who are in NIC list, but no wages are being given to them. System and Operation has also 150 casual labourers. Later on a great Dharna was given in the said premises in which most of the leaders explained their views on the above mentioned demands and requested the Govt to take immediate action in the matter, so that all the Casual Need Based Workers will get their salaries for the last seven years, which is pending and not paid to them. It was also stressed upon as well as requested to Lt Governor J&K UT to regularize the casual need based labourers and also NIC and pay their pending wages. It was also stated in the Dharna that those employees/casual labourers who either died or injured and become disabled during the official duties.
