UDHAMPUR, Oct 7: A series of activities were held on day 6 of the ‘Back to village’ programme edition third across 86 Panchayats of Udhampur district.
District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr. Piyush Singla informed that B2V activities have been condcuted in 150 Panchayats in two rounds, while the same were taken up in 86 Panchayats today. Meanwhile senior officers visited various Panchayats, including Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Additional Inspector General of Registration, Jammu, Leena Padha, Secretary J&K Board of School Education, Manisha Sareen, Director Codes, Finance Department, Shadi Lal Pandita and Additional Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Pankaj Magotra,.
Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal during his visit to Panchayat Upper Meer Block Panchari held interactions with PRIs and locals at the Gram Sabha and conducted extensive tour of the area to take firsthand appraisal of the problems being faced by the people living there.
A large number of people, including senior citizens, women, and youth participated in the interactions and put forth their demands and grievances.
Dr Kotwal apprised them of various centrally and state sponsored schemes and asked them to avail the benefits of the same. He hoped that the PRI members would make efficient and effective use of the funds being made available to them under various schemes for the development and growth of the region. He also focused on the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitation.
Similar activities were held in other panchayats and the visiting officers inaugurated completed works, inspected ongoing development works, PMAY houses, under Construction, held Public meetings, Gram/Ward/Bal Sabhas, laid foundation stones, Plantation drives, hosted Greh parvesh for PMAY beneficiaries, distributed golden cards , Domicile certificates, Sports kits and organised sports activities etc.
