People updated about Govt Schemes; Officials profile dev needs of Panchayats

REASI, Oct 7: The day-2 of second round of Back to Village program witnessed series of activities including dissemination of information about government schemes across 106 Panchayats of Reasi district.
The designated officers at the assigned Panchayats held special Gram Sabhas in which PRI members and people from all sections of the society participated and apprised the visiting officers about daily problems of life. They demanded better water, electricity, roads and medicare facilities etc.
On the occasion, cultural and sports events were also organised and sports kits and education kits were distributed among the participating students.
The officials of Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Handloom, Handicrafts, Floriculture departments disseminated information with respect to various schemes of their departments through stalls. Special awareness programmes on COVID19 and Poshan Abhiyan were also held by the officials of the health and social welfare departments, respectively.
The Secretary Planning and Jal Shakti Departments, M Raju – the Visiting Officer for Panchayat Siarh Kotla, Block Panthal listened to public issues projected by BDC Chairperson, Sarpanchs and Panchs. The specific issues raised were related to augmentation of health infrastructure, Electricity problem and shortage of drinking water facility.
The visiting Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands. Some of the issues were resolved on the spot while the rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for redressing of the same. During his visit to Government High School Sirah Kotla, he distributed sport kits among the local youth.
