RAJESH TANDON
EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, Oct 14: Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs (FCS&CA) Poonch allegedly deleted a number of ration card IDs from its portal while it changed the categories of several others due to which the consumers are getting anxious moments.
Speaking to Early Times, Javid Reshi, chairman of Jammu Kashmir Insaaf Movement, said “Consumers from different parts of the district informed me that the officials of the concerned department have deliberately removed their IDs from department’s portal whereas a large number of others were changed from BPL/PHH to NPHH”. He said there are many consumers who got ration in the month of August and now are unable to get their quota of ration as their names are not being shown on the official portal of FCS&CA.
“When this matter was put up before the concerned authorities they denied to reload the IDs of ration cards on its portal,” Reshi further informed.
He said, “When I along with a delegation met with the authorities, it was told that they are not competent to reload the deleted IDs unless they are not found to be legitimate”.
This reply of officials of the department shows that these deleted households have no right to get benefits of ration cards, Reshi further said.
Reshi appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter and direct FCS&CA Poonch to sort out the problems being faced by the public on priority basis.
While few of the aggrieved consumers said, “A politician in order to settle some political score is behind the deletion of IDs. The leader is hand in gloves with some officials who changed their IDs from BPL/PHH to NPHH.”
Meanwhile, AD FCS&CA, Ranjeet Singh assured that he will take necessary action and will do the needful so that the general may not suffer.
He admitted that there have been some errors in some IDs which will be corrected on priority basis.
