Block Diwas activities held in different parts of Rajouri district

RAJOURI, Oct 14: District Administration Rajouri, under the overall supervision of the District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, on Wednesday organised Youm-e-Block/Block Diwas at different locations to listen to the public grievances and assess the progress on developmental works. Designated senior officers were present at their respective Block headquarters where they listened to the public grievances and resolved majority of them on the spot with the intervention of the concerned department.
The District Development Commissioner chaired the Block Diwas at Rajouri where public from six blocks including Rajouri, Darhal, Manjakote, Dhangri, Panjgrain and Doongi along with their elected representatives participated and raised a number of issues pertaining to their areas. They demanded adequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health care services and related problems. On the occasion, a number of revenue documents were issued, besides providing other Government services to the general public. The DDC directed the officers to work with missionary zeal to benefit the people and aware them about income generating schemes launched by the Government of India. He said that the aim of holding such public outreach programmes is to get the feedback about the on-going developmental activities being carried out by the government departments. BDC Chairperson Rajouri, Darbar Chowdhary; BDC Chairperson Doongi, Raiz Chowdhary; Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria; District Panchayat Officer, Chander Kant Bhagat; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohd Rafeeq; Executive Engineer, REW Rajouri, Noor Ali, besides other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
