Public grievance redress camps held across Samba

SAMBA, Oct 14: Following the successful completion of the back to village phase-3 and Jan Abhiyan programme, district administration Samba today organised Public grievances redress camps across 9 blocks of the district as part of the Block Diwas activity.
As per directions of the District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, the public grievance redress camps were organised at BDO office Sumb for Block Samba, Nud and Sumb, at BDO office Bari-Brahmana for Block Bari-Brahmana, Vijaypur, Purmandal and Ramgarh and at SDM office Ghagwal for block Ghagwal and Rajpura. Such camps will be held on every Wednesday as a part of the ‘Block Divas’.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Suram Chand Sharma, presided over the camp at Sumb, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ram Kesh Sharma at Ghagwal and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitender Mishra at Bari-Brahmana. They listened to issues raised by the Panchayat members including Sarpanchs, Panches, besides the general public. Taking cognisance of the issues raised, the designated nodal officers passed on directions to the concerned departments to take measures to address the public issues. Executive Engineer PWD was asked to propose and maintain new and old roads, Executive Engineer PDD was asked to minimize un-scheduled power cuts, repair the damaged transformers and fix the loosened distribution cables. The Executive Engineer PHE was asked to take measures for providing safe and clean drinking water supply and expediting sanctioning of new water supply schemes. In addition, the nodal officers also directed rural development department for accelerating developmental works in villages sanctioned under 14 FC plan and approved under back to village programme.
