Advisor Baseer Khan inaugurates two day musical concert JASHN-e-HARUD

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 15: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today inaugurated two day folk and light music concert 'JASHN-e-HARUD' at Tagore Hall Srinagar. The concert is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kashmir.

Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Sarmad Hafeez besides other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The concert witnessed performance from the renowned artists of Kashmir enthralling the audience.

The two day festival has been scheduled by the Academy to provide platform to the artists after prolonged gap due to COVID 19. On the first day of the programme, artists Waheed Jeelani, Muneer Ahmad Mir, Shaziya Bashir, Firdous Ahmad exhibited their skills.

The Advisor who was Chief Guest on the ocassion hailed the efforts of the Academy in promoting Art, Culture and Languages in the whole of J&K. He said that the Govt will provide all possible help and assistance to carry forward this legacy.

While speaking on the ocassion, the Advisor appreciated the Academy for conducting such cultural programmes in which renowned artists showcase their great talent to promote our folk, music, rich culture and encourage budding artists and to provide platform to them through such musical concerts.

Advisor also stressed upon them that all SOPs should be followed during the activities of the concert to prevent spreading infections of Covid-19.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Mr Muneer ul Islam, Secretary JKAACL told that it is after a gap of couple of months that we are able to organize various programmes which were affected due to covid 19 pandamic. The process will continue with all fervor and zeal, he added.

The event was attended by a large number of music lovers and artists and the proceedings of the function were conducted by Nasir Ali Khan.
