COVID guidelines adhered strictly at AMIE Centre Code 190

Srinagar, Oct 16: The AMIE Summer-2020 examinations, which commenced from 10th October throughout the country, concluded today. The exams were also held in Srinagar Centre Code No. 190, at the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI), J&K State Centre, Church Lane, Sonawarbagh, Srinagar. More than 100 students from different engineering branches participated in the examinations. Today’s last session had 21 candidates.
The exam was conducted under the overall supervision of Er. Aijaz Ahmed Mir, Associate Professor, NIT Srinagar, as the Officer-in-Charge and Sheikh Inayatullah, Exam Superintendent.
They were assisted by a competent team of Invigilators, comprising of Dr. Tanveer Rasool, Associate Professor NIT, Er. Waseem Ahmad Laway, JE and Er. Imran Ahmad Wani JE, Executive Committee Members IEI JKSC. Er. Shafqat Shafi and Er. Nahida Mehraj from Government Women’s Polytechnic, Bemina. Er. Adil Bashir Gurkhu and Er. Shabir Ahmad, Junior Engineers. Er. Sumeera Rashid M.Tech, Er. Jahangir Ali and Er. Imtiyaz Akbar Najar PhD Scholar.
The IEI team ensured adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and COVID-19 guidelines for conduct of examination, as mentioned in Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Order F.No.16-16/2020-UIA dated 6.7.2020 and specific order of District Magistrate Srinagar vide No: ADC-S/PS/AMIE-Exam/2020-21/ 1681-88 dated 9.10.2020, for the safety of the candidates and the examination staff. All candidates were made to sit in the examination hall, after maintaining proper physical distancing. It was ensured that all candidates and staff wear face mask at all times, for which IEI also kept available, disposal face masks and hand-sanitizers. Nobody was allowed to enter the examination Centre, without checking their temperatures, with digital thermometers. The examination was held in two sittings, forenoon and afternoon. The examination hall was sanitized twice daily, by sanitation teams from Srinagar Municipal Corporation and local unit of CRPF, before the start of every exam. In order to ensure that the examination was conducted in the fairest possible manner, closed circuit camera TVs (CCTVs) were installed in the Centre and footage was monitored, on a real time basis.
