JAMMU, Oct 16: A joint meeting of the senior leaders of the Congress party was held at Greater Kailash under the leadership of ex-DyCM Tara Chand, former minister Jugal Kishore Sharma and ex-minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma.
Senior Congress leader Thakur Jai Singh was the main organizer of the meeting wherein several issues were discussed in detail.
Congress leaders present in the meeting strongly opposed the imposition of property tax in J&K and said that J&K has majority of middle class people and they will not be able to give the property tax. They said that they will oppose the bill of property tax in the coming days. Another issue which was discussed in the meeting was of Toll Plazas installed in Sarore and Ban. The Congress leaders strongly oppose the opening of Toll Plazas and asked the central govt to abolish the Toll Plazas of Sarore and Ban otherwise the BJP will face consequences. Another issue which was discussed in the meeting was of 4G restoration in J&K. The leaders of Congress party asked the Central Govt to restore 4G in J&K as the people are facing hardships due to non-availability of 4G internet. They also questioned to the Central Govt and UT administration that during the ongoing economic crisis and coupled with the worst economic conditions of the people due to Covid-19 is it justified to charge such taxes and enhance fees.
