DDC inaugurates renovated Dak Banglow at Udhampur
Adhaar registration centre starts in schools

UDHAMPUR, Oct 16:- District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr. Piyush Singla today inaugurated newly renovated Dak Bangalow here.
Superintendent Engineer R&B, Shakti Sagar, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, Executive Engineer PWD, Girdhari Lal and other officers and officials of R&B Department were also present.
The renovated Dak Bangalow has a facility of 5 rooms, one Dining Hall, one Dormitory and one Office. It is pertinent to mention here that the old block was not in use for last fifteen years and after the intervention of DDC Udhampur this block was renovated out of district budget and was thrown open for use.
The DDC said that Udhampur being on the National Highway has huge demand of government accommodation facility and Dak Bangalow Udhampur had limited facilities. “Now after renovation of this block, accommodation demand will be resolved to some extent,” he added.
On the occasion, DDC congratulated the executing agency for timely completion of the project work. Later, the DDC inaugurated an Aadhar Registration center at Model Higher Secondary School Udhampur in presence of Chief Education Officer, Parshotam Dutt and staff of Govt. Hr. Secondary School.
The CEO informed that 34 adhaar centres will be established in schools of Udhampur district for adhaar registration of students and these centres will be rotated after 100% saturation at a particular location.
The DDC said that Aadhar coverage for adults is more than 95% in the district and the gap among the school going children, would be filled with this drive.
