Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 25: Expressing its resentment over the recent exclusion of Punjabi language as J&K's official language, the Jammu unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the decision.
The protest was held under the chairmanship of senior AAP leaders Amreek Singh Sasan and Sewak Singh along with other members Rohan Bedi, Altaf Shah, Yasir Shafi Matto, Sarabjeet Singh, Tanvir Rather and Mohd Yaseen
Strongly condemning the exclusion of Punjabi from official language status, members of AAP said that the decision has badly hurt the sentiments of entire Sikh Community and Punjabi loving people in Jammu and Kashmir and consequently a strong resentment is brewing in the mind of entire community particularly amongst the youth.
AAP Jammu said that we are unable to understand that what criteria had applied to kill Punjabi language in the absence of any democratic government in J&K. AAP Jammu disclosed that after proper consultations and obtaining opinion from all members, they decided to chalk out some strategy for initiating a strong protest and hoped that protest will spread to every district of J&K.
AAP Jammu also disclosed that soon we are going to meet the Lt Governor of J&K to present a memorandum and lodge strong protest of this exclusion.
