JK reports 532 fresh cases of Corona Virus, eight more people die in past 24 hours

SRINAGAR, Oct 25: Number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 91,861 after 532 fresh cases were reported today. With eight deaths in past 24 hours the death toll due to the virus reached 1,438.
Srinagar district reported 124 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 113 cases, Baramulla district 80 cases, Kupwara district 36 cases, Budgam district 26 cases, Shopian district 25 cases, Pulwama and Bandipora districts 19 cases each, Poonch district 16 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Kishtwar district 12 cases, Samba district eight cases, Ganderbal district seven cases, Rajouri and Kathua districts six cases each, Kulgam, Udhampur, Doda and Ramban district five cases each and Reasi district one case.
Baramulla district reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Jammu, Budgam, Pulwama, Ramban and Rajouri districts. So far 960 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 478 people have fallen prey to the COVID-19 up to this date.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 532 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 177 from Jammu division and 355 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 91,861. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 639 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 263 from Jammu Division and 376 from Kashmir Division. Out of 91,861 positive cases, 7,565 are active positive, 82,858 have recovered and 1,438 have died; 478 in Jammu division and 960 in Kashmir division.
Out of 21, 75,682 test results available, 20, 83,821 samples have tested as negative till date. Till date 6, 41,369 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 18,154 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,565 in isolation and 47,328 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 66,884 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 18,655 positive cases, 1,748 active positive, 16,563 recovered, 344 deaths; Budgam has 5,862 positive cases, 365 active positive, 5,405 recovered, 92 deaths; Baramulla has 5,619 positive cases, 1,429 active positive, 4,049 recovered, 141 deaths; Pulwama has 4,558 positive cases, 238 active positive, 4,240 recovered, 80 deaths; Kupwara has 4,286 positive cases, 394 active positive, 3,821 recovered, 71 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,176 positive cases, 359 active positive, 3,743 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 3,976 positive cases, 277 active positive, 3,654 recovered, 45 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,427 positive cases, 204 active positive, 3,191 recovered, 32 deaths; Kulgam has 2,459 positive cases, 108 active positive, 2,305 recovered, 46 deaths and Shopian has 2,171 positive cases, 85 active positive, 2,051 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 16,905 positive cases, 914 active positive, 15,742 recovered, 249 deaths; Rajouri has 3,172 positive cases, 168 active positive, 2,958 recovered, 46 deaths; Udhampur has 2,633 positive cases, 113 active positive, 2,492 recovered, 28 deaths; Doda has 2,609 positive cases, 171 active positive, 2,394 recovered, 44 deaths; Kathua has 2,382 positive cases, 43 active positive, 2,309 recovered, 30 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,209 positive cases, 277 active positive, 1,910 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,133 positive cases, 370 active positive, 1,738 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,849 positive cases, 173 active positive, 1,662 recovered, 14 deaths; Ramban has 1,556 positive cases, 59 active positive, 1,484 recovered, 13 deaths and Reasi has 1,224 positive cases, 70 active positive, 1,147 recovered, seven deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 91,861 positive cases 9,591 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
