Jammu School Education, ISM to promote medicinal plants, gardens

Jammu, Nov 3 Jammu School Education in collaboration with Indian Systems of Medicine will be promoting medicinal plants and nutritional gardens in Government Schools across the Jammu Division.
Director School Education, Jammu Anuradha Gupta here said that Joint Task Force from Directorate of School Education, Jammu and Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine has been constituted for the promotion of medicinal plants and nutritional gardens in Government Schools of Jammu Division.
The Members of Task Force from Directorate of School Education is comprised of six Lecturers from Botany Discipline, two from EVS (Environmental Studies), two from English and one Headmaster.
However, the Members of Task Force from Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine are Technical Officer, Medical Officer and In-charge Assistant Professor.
Ms Gupta further said that it has also been agreed in the joint meeting that the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine will provide Technical Expertise for designing of Herbal Gardens in Schools, Guidance for establishing nutritional gardens in schools, Planting material of Medicinal Plants for school herbal gardens, Booklets/CDs/Pamphlets/other IEC material on Ayush principles and practices for minor ailments.
The Directorate of School Education, Jammu will coordinate and facilitate the promotion of medicinal plants and nutritional gardens in Government Schools of Jammu Division, said the Director.
