DBPS pays tributes to Maj Som Nath Sharma

Jammu, Nov 3: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, Jammu today paid rich tribute to Shaheed War Hero Major Som Nath Sharma, first Paramveer Chakra awardee on his 73rd death anniversary who laid his supreme sacrifice at the young age of 43 years while defending the borders of the motherland. He was instrumental in repulsing the Pak Army attack under the garb of tribal on 3rd Nov. 1947 at Srinagar Airport.
Ved Parkash Sharma President, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, Jammu paid floral tributes to Shaheed Som Nath at a function held at the premises of Sabha by maintaining social distancing protocol, where several speakers recalled the sacrifice of the great warrior. Sharma termed the qualities of the Martyr as a pride of the Nation.
Entire family of Martyr joined the Indian Army thereby setting an example for others to take on the enemy with brave face, he said.
Chander Mohan Sharma President Tawi Andolan while paying rich tributes to the warrior, stressed the need to follow his footsteps. The history of Dogras should form part of our syllabus in education. Senior member of the Sabha, Advocate PC Sharma threw light on highlights of achievement of the Martyr.
Prominent social activists Subash Shastri who paid his rich tribute by reciting poem concerning the martyrdoms of Major Som Nath.
