Illegal entries for 1099 Kanal state land expunged in Akhnoor tehsil

JAMMU, Nov 5: The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu ordered expunging/deletion of illegal entries of the private individuals for State Land in the Revenue Record in respect of land measuring 798 Kanals and 11 Marlas in Village Garkhal, Tehsil Akhnoor and land measuring 300 Kanals and 13 Marlas in Village Palwan,Tehsil Akhnoor in contravention of J&K, Land Revenue Act, SVT 1996 and other Revenue Laws in force.
The Deputy Commissioner, while observing that Government property ownership of which absolutely rest with the Government through the Revenue Department and the same cannot be property of individual person under any circumstances and recording entries of the private persons over the State land is totally illegal and unlawful being non permissible and unsustainable under Law and ordered to restore back to the State in its original position and further ordered that SDM Akhnoor will hold an enquiry and furnish a report in the matter after fixing the responsibility of the officers/ officials who had made illegal entries in favour of individual persons.
