SRINAGAR, Nov 5: The total number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 97,224 after 524 new cases of virus came to the fore today. The death toll reached 1,517 as six fresh deaths were reported in past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 155 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 99 cases, Baramulla district 54 cases, Budgam district 38 cases, Kupwara district 26 cases, Ganderbal district 23 cases, Kishtwar district 19 cases, Shopian district 15 cases, Ramban district 11 cases, Doda and Kathua districts 10 cases each, Bandipora, Rajouri, Udhampur and Reasi districts nine cases each, Pulwama district eight cases, Anantnag district six cases, Kulgam and Poonch districts five cases each and Samba district four cases.
Srinagar district reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths in the past 24 hours or so while as a death each was reported from Jammu, Anantnag and Ramban districts. So far 1005 virus related deaths have come to the fore from Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 512 people have died due to the virus.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 524 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 185 from Jammu division and 339 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 97,224. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 651 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 174 from Jammu Division and 477 from Kashmir Division. Out of 97,224 positive cases, 5,802 are active positive, 89,905 have recovered and 1,517 have died; 512 in Jammu division and 1005 in Kashmir division.
Out of 24, 14,248 test results available, 23, 17,024 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 64,234 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,155 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,802 in isolation and 43,762 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 96,998 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,990 positive cases, 1,334 active positive, 18,286 recovered, 370 deaths; Baramulla has 6,333 positive cases, 1,224 active positive, 4,962 recovered, 147 deaths; Budgam has 6,162 positive cases, 276 active positive, 5,792 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,732 positive cases, 179 active positive, 4,470 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,576 positive cases, 402 active positive, 4,101 recovered, 73 deaths;
“Anantnag has 4,274 positive cases, 175 active positive, 4,024 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,102 positive cases, 172 active positive, 3,884 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,646 positive cases, 223 active positive, 3,389 recovered, 34 deaths; Kulgam has 2,504 positive cases, 83 active positive, 2,373 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,245 positive cases, 110 active positive, 2,100 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,087 positive cases, 665 active positive, 17,157 recovered, 265 deaths; Rajouri has 3,232 positive cases, 74 active positive, 3,110 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,764 positive cases, 136 active positive, 2,596 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,690 positive cases, 84 active positive, 2,558 recovered, 48 deaths; Kathua has 2,489 positive cases, 49 active positive, 2,408 recovered, 32 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,275 positive cases, 108 active positive, 2,145 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,197 positive cases, 225 active positive, 1,947 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,986 positive cases, 118 active positive, 1,853 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,638 positive cases, 69 active positive, 1,552 recovered, 17 deaths and Reasi has 1,302 positive cases, 96 active positive, 1,198 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 97,224 positive cases in J&K, 9,913 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
