JAMMU, Nov 12: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta organised an event in which local clay made DIYAS were distributed in people for Diwali and promoting the slogans VOCAL For LOCAL.
Gupta stated that to realise the national aspiration of a self-reliant India, "let''s commit ourselves to light a lamp of happiness and prosperity in the lives of our weavers, artisans and local businesses by becoming vocal for local".
From decorative items to earthen diyas and local crafts, Local4Diwali not only brings prosperity to the lives of our craft persons but also symbolises our rich heritage and culture. I earnestly request all to join the clarion call of PM Narendra Modi ji and support indigenous items.
He further stated that our one step will make big difference to their lives let's go Local4Diwali - shop from local craftsmen & workers to make their Deepavali happy and joyful. He said that we will distribute 10,000 Diya's as an attempt to promote PM Modi"s vocal 4 local call.
The party workers are reaching out mostly to the underprivileged section of the citizens. Since the poor were hardest hit due to the pandemic-induced lockdown, the party decided to make life a bit easier for them.
Gupta also appealed to the public does not use sanitisers before or while bursting firecrackers or lighting diyas. At that time, it has recommended the use of water and soap instead as sanitisers are inflammable.
