DPEO Rajouri reviews arrangements for DDC elections, Panchayat by Polls

RAJOURI, Nov 12: To discuss the election preparedness for upcoming District Development Council /Panchayat By-Elections 2020 in the district, the District Panchayat Election Officer Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh convened a meeting with the concerned officers, here today.
A threadbare discussion was held during the meeting on various points including inclusion of voters in the electoral rolls, data entry of employees, preparation of sets of electoral rolls in respect of clubbed polling stations, distribution of electoral rolls to the polling parties, training to polling staff and presiding officers, distribution of election material to ROs and AROs, transport plan, physical verification of polling stations, establishment of strong rooms, dispatch of polling parties and collection of election material after poll.
The DPEO gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers with regard to their duties and responsibilities during the election process and asked them to remain more vigilant and prompt to their duties and remain in touch with the District Election Office for timely coordination. He also directed the concerned officers to strictly implement the COVID-19 SOPs during the election and counting process.
The DPEO stressed for working in close coordination and synergy and directed for making all the requisite arrangements well in advance. He further exhorted upon the officers to ensure that all basic facilities at each designated polling stations are made available and also emphasized to sort out the bottlenecks, if any, in this behalf.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional SP, Liyaqat Chowdhary, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Sunil Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, Deputy District Election Officer, Parveen Akhter, District Panchayat Officer, Chander Kant Bhagat, District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Inzar Rana, Assistant AEROs and Master Trainers.
