After Kishtwar PDP to contest from Thathri against NC, Cong

KISHTWAR, Nov 18: After visible cracks witnessed among People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) in Kishtwar District, People's Democratic Party (PDP) had decided to field a candidate in Doda's Thathri constituency of District Development Council (DDC) against National Conference and Congress.
As per the details available with Early Times, 24 year old Er. Ibad Ur Rehman who today along with his supporters joined the PDP before Party's District President Sheikh Nasir Hussain at Kishtwar tipped to be the possible probable of the PDP from Thathri.
National Conference has given the mandate to Shamim Ahmed, party Block President Thathri while Congress had named its senior leader Altaf Hussain as candidate which clearly shows that the rift among the alliance partners is wide open who had principally decided to contest the DDC polls/election to left out Panchayats jointly.
While welcoming the new entrant in the party fold, District President Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir claimed that youngsters are joining the party as they realized the region could develop only under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti.
He said that the PDP has always provided a vibrant platform to youths to play their designated role in the polity and help in shaping its politico-economic destiny", he added.
"People's Democratic Party provides an effective platform to render such services. The leadership of (Former Chief Minister) Mehbooba Mufti and her political ideology is a combination that inspires upcoming political activists to change fate of the Union Territory from bad to better," Ibad ur Rehman told Early Times.
Ibad, a Civil Engineer, who persuaded Engineering from Himachal Pradesh, said that he was craving for an opportunity to work under the PDP banner since long as it is the party which has a road map and a committed cadre to shape J&K's future.
He said that he had earlier decided to contest the election as an independent candidate but after meeting with PDP top leadership he and his supporters join the party and assured that he will work with zeal and zest for the upliftment of downtrodden as well as for the youths.
Speaking to Early Times, PDP District President Sheikh Nasir Hussain said that party has decided to field the candidate from Thatri constituency, adding that Er. Ibad Ur Rehman is one among the probable for the party mandate.
