11/27/2020 12:20:15 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 26: Authenticating report of the Early Times, three more Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, including two founder members, on Thursday resigned from the party as, according to them, PDP is ‘hijacked by communal and unscrupulous’ elements.
Two former Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of PDP namely Daman Bhasin and Fallail Singh quitted the party after writing a hard-hitting letter to party president Mehbooba Mufti. Apart from PAC-the highest decision making body of the party, Daman Bhasin had served the party as state general secretary while Fallail Singh as state secretary.
Pritam Kotwal, former district president of district Doda was another signatory of the letter which was issued to the media this afternoon.
The Early Times in its November 23 edition had reported that after the resignation of T S Bajwa, Ved Mahajan and Hussain Ali Baffa, a couple of more senior leaders were going to quit the party.
“With heavy heart, we are writing this resignation letter to you as we have no option but to quit the party which has, unfortunately, being hijacked by the unscrupulous, communal elements with mysterious character”, the trio mentioned in the letter, ad
“Unfortunately, it is a hard reality that after the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP has been virtually hijacked by those having a parochial and communal approach. Instead of carrying forward the visionary secular agenda of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP leadership is brazenly indulged into pursuing the communal politics”
ing, “Furthermore, the party- which was formed to provide a secular and vibrant alternative, has become second fiddle to the National Conference (NC)”
“Throughout his life, late Mufti Sayeed tried assiduously to remove trust deficit among different religions and also among different regions and sub-regions of the erstwhile State of J&K.
During his two tenures of Chief Minister of J&K-one alliance with Congress and another with ideological opposite BJP- late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had proved how to strike balance among different regions and how to treat all communities equally. As late Mufti Sahib had set an example of good governance, his first tenure as Chief Minister of J&K is still considered as golden period in the political history of J&K”, they stated and added, Unfortunately, it is a hard reality that after the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP has been virtually hijacked by those having parochial and communal approach. Instead of carrying forward the visionary secular agenda of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP leadership is brazenly indulged into pursuing communal politics- which is against the vision of its founder who was a shining example of secularism and communal harmony”.
