Kishtwar witnessed massive 71% polling for 2 DDCs, 90% for 3 vacant Panch seats

Jammu, Dec 4: Braving chill and sub-zero temperature, the people in Kishtwar district today voted overwhelmingly for two seats of DDC constituencies Nagsini and Bhujwah as women at several places outnumbered the male in terms of casting their votes.
As per the details available with Early Times, in DDC Panchayat by-election 2020 marked greater participation of voters with two DDC constituencies witnessing 71% turn out while as three vacant seats of Panch witnessed 90% voter turnout and on two vacant Sarpanch seats one each in Nagsini and Bhujwah also witnessed 51% turn out.
With greater participation of the voters— the voters turn out in the district remain high as compared to the two preceding phases.
Returning officers DDC Constituency Nagseni Pawan Parihar along with BDO Nagseni Abhay Indu Sharma visited the various polling booths and personally inspected the logistics and security arrangement in these polling stations for effective transparent and fair conduct of the elections.

The polling which started early at 07:00 AM this morning witnessed high turnout.
The polling in this phase was held for 2 DDC constituencies,1 sarpanch vacant seat and for 1 panch seat in Nagseni and 1 vacant Sarpanch seat and 2 panch seats in Bounjwah with overall 11 candidates in fray .
The turnout for DDC polls was recorded at 67% in Nagseni, and 73% in Bhujwah— Whereas poll percentage of 98.89% was recorded for vacant panch seat of Nagseni block and 87.4% for vacant panch post in Bhujwah.
National Conference candidate Mohammad Yousaf has won Sarpanch election from Piyas Panchayat of Nagsini block. Yousaf manage to secure 335 votes while Mohammad Amin of BJP manage to get 188 votes and Independent candidate Mohammad Shafi got 166 votes. NC also won Panch seat from Nagsini block.
Similarly BJP candidate Mohammad Yaqoob won vacant Sarpanch seat from Patnazi- B Panchayat of Bhujwah block by securing 797 while Mohammad Hussain of alliance secured 134. While Rubina Begum of BJP won Panch vacant post and Bashir Ahmed of BJP also wins another Panch seat from same block.
