JAMMU, Dec 4: In an alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct, District Panchayat Election Officer Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma has ordered the attachment of husband of National Conference candidate from Inderwal DDC constituency which is scheduled to go for poll in 4th phase on December 7.
As per the details available with Early Times, Mohammad Ishaq Butt, SFC field supervisor Chatroo who happens to be the husband of Rubina Begum, NC candidate from Inderwal has been attached with Divisional Manger SFC Kishtwar for his alleged involvement in political activities and violation of MCC for government employees.
The charge has been denied by the National Conference who termed the allegations against the husband of party candidate as mala-fide aimed to harass the party candidate. A senior leader of the NC wishing anonymity said that attachment of Butt is against the spirit of democracy where the husband of the contesting candidate is being punished on the ground of being her husband while there is no proof against Butt that party proves the allegations against him.
NC believes that the inquiry will be conducted without any bias and hope that the allegations leveled against Butt will be proved as false and concocted.
