Div Com reviews progress on tourism sector projects

JAMMU, Nov 4: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress of various tourism projects.
The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Jammu, Chief Executive Officer SMDA, Chief Executive Officer Patnitop Development Authority, Project Manager National Project Construction Corporation and other concerned, while officers of Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the status of development projects including development of tourist facilities along Jammu - Srinagar - Pahalgam - Anantnag - Salamabad Uri - Kargil - Leh - Swadesh Darshan Circuit, Jammu Rajouri - Shopian - Pulwama circuit under Himalayan Circuit and Mantalai- Sudhmahadev circuit. The meeting also discussed the progress of the re-construction of the tourism assets destroyed in the floods.
The Div Com sought details of physical and financial progress of each project. Emphasising that the projects are being closely monitored at the highest levels, the Div Com asked the concerned officers to set component wise timelines and review the pace on regular basis to get a clear picture.
He directed them to further gear up men and machinery and set timelines for completion of each component of all these ongoing projects.
It was informed that the work is at different stages on all the projects of the tourism sector and the progress is being monitored on a regular basis.
