12/6/2020 10:19:31 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Dec 6: An impressive four wickets haul by Nitin Thakur followed by entertaining 44 runs of 28 balls by Amit Kumar and 36 runs off 28 balls by Anil saw Media XI Cricket Club Jammu register 6 wickets victory over Sharika Diagnostics Cricket Club in the inaugural match of the 'Friendship Cup T-20 Series 2020' being played at the GGM Science College Hostel Ground, Jammu.
Earlier, Sharika CC led by Anil Bhushan won the toss and opted to bat first but the decision soon proved erroneous as Media XI pacer Nitin Thakur rattled Sharika batting order with a bowling figure of 3-0-15-4. Sharika CC had a nightmarish day as 7 of its batters scored in single digit including two ducks.
The incisive Media XI bowling was countered by Viraj (25 runs off 17 balls) and a late cameo by Ayush (26 runs of 11 balls) helped Sharika CC put up a par score of 113 for 9 in the stipulated 20 overs. Apart from Nitin, Rahul also took 2 wickets whereas Dev Thakur and Faheem Tak shared wicket apiece.
In reply, Media XI suffered an early blow as Pardeep Bali was clean bowled by Ayush, Amit (44 runs off 52 balls) and Anil (36 runs off 52 Balls) helped Media XII chase down the modest target with consummate ease, getting the team home in 13 overs.
Later, during the post match presentation chief guest on the occasion Amit Kumar - Corporator Ward no. 19 was felicitated by both the captains by presenting a memento.
The chief guest lauded both the teams for putting up a competitive performance on the field. He presented runners up & winners up trophies to the players of both the teams and Man of the Match Award to Nitin Thakur for his splendid performance with the ball. Later, Media XI skipper Vivek Suri was presented the winning trophy by the Chief Guest.
