BJP highlights 'ill-treatment' meted to Azad to corner Cong
Saffron Party's concerns for LoP raised many eye-brows

Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 6: Taking advantage of the 'inactiveness' of the leader of opposition (LoP) in the Rajya Sabha during the on-going District Development Councils (DDCs) elections, the BJP on Sunday 'cleverly' highlighted 'ill-treatment' being meted out to Ghulam Nabi Azad by the Congress high-command.
BJP invoked Azad to rake up sentiments of the people of Jammu region to corner Congress in the remaining five phases of the DDCs elections. Interestingly 'ill-treatment' being meted to Azad was highlighted by none else than BJP's Muslim face at national level Shahnawaz Hussain while interacting with media persons at Jammu.
While pointing towards sidelining of LoP in Rajya Sabha, Shahnawaz said Azad, who belongs to Jammu, is stalwart of Congress but he has been sidelined in the party for speaking truth. He regretted that Azad has become non-entity in the Congress despite that he (Azad) worked assiduously to strengthen the party. "In today's Congress only slaves of Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will survive and those who dared to speak truth has been sidelined", he said.
In an attempt to highlight ill-treatment being meted out to Azad, he said that there is culture in the Congress that those who dared to speak truth would be gagged and those who dared to write reality would be punished.
Shahnawaz further alleged that formation of Gupkar Alliance was game-plan of Congress leadership and it was all due to exposure by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and party (Congress) has backtracked from becoming part of the "Gupkar Gang". "Congress is behind the curtain in the formation of the Gupkar Gang", he alleged.
BJP's love for Ghulam Nabi Azad has raised many eye-brows. It is believed that the party has realized that Azad is a force in J&K, especially in Jammu province so it would be benefitted to highlight treatment given to him by the party leadership.
