| Sub-Division Marh celebrates World Soil Health Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 6: World Soil Health Day was organized by Sub-Division Marh in collaboration with Soil Testing Wing Jammu at Panchayat Ghar Parwah Zone Marh. Director Agriculture & FW Deptt. Jammu Inder Jeet was the chief guest on this occasion. He inaugurated the worldly acclaimed day of global importance. The officers present were Agriculture Chemist Jammu Dr. Surestha, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marh Dr Ashwani Jojra, Research Assistant Dr Vaishali & AEO Marh Dr Vikram Katryal. In his inaugural address, Director Agriculture stressed the need to organize more such outreach programmes to sensitize everyone associated with agriculture directly or indirectly in order to protect soil biodiversity to maintain and enhance the soil health. He also distributed soil health cards to the farmers. Dr. Surestha while addressing the participants stressed upon the importance of soil testing before sowing of crops in the field so that optimum dose of nutrients and fertilizers are made available to the plants for their growth & importance.
