EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Dec 6: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) held a protest demonstration today for the 66th day of their agitation in Jagti township under the leadership of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the protestors, Pandita said the JTC and SKF have been protesting for 64th days but the Government has failed to meet the demands. He said till the Government increases the monthly cash relief to Rs 25,000 and settles other demands the protest will continue.
Pandita said for permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley the Government should set up three Satellite townships in three districts of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag where at least 35,000 families can live together in each township. He said that the Government has deliberately made attached tag of migrants with displaced people from Valley due to which the community is losing its identity. He said the Kashmiri Muslims community should not oppose the townships for Kashmiri Pandits in Valley because Kashmir is also part of Kashmiri Pandits who have been living in exile for 31 years now. “Creating of townships for KPs in Kashmir Valley will create beauty and brotherhood and strengthen inter community bonds which will increase jobs and businesses in Kashmir and bring prosperity to its people.
Pandita demanded political and minority status for Kashmiri Pandits immediately. He said one Government job each should be given to those families were there is no Government employee. Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of JTC convenor of Soan Kashmir Front and Kashi Nath Bhat, vice president of JTC and SKF demanded free ration for pensioners who are unable to make their both ends meet.
