Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 6: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today called for alternate means of career advancement among youth in view of scarce white collar jobs, adding that entrepreneurship could be a viable option, not only for self-sustenance and growth, but for generating jobs.
“Apart from making a good living in a business proposition, entrepreneurs can draw satisfaction in generating jobs for skilled and unskilled workforce”, Rana said while inaugurating an establishment dealing in home appliances at Sidhra in the city peripheries.
“It is better to be a job provider than a job seeker”, the Provincial President said, adding that drive and initiative among youth in establishing profit generating units could be answer to burgeoning unemployment in a place like Jammu, where joblessness is increasing due to slow pace of recruitment in recent years as also limited number of openings in the government sector, the only job generator in the absence of industrial and corporate sectors. Therefore, he said, entrepreneurship assumes immense significance, especially these days of grim pandemic scenario, which has rendered many jobless.
Rana hoped that a positive approach and progressive vision in the private sector can be beneficial to society. It is an ethical responsibility of the entrepreneurs to ensure supply of credible products at affordable prices. Credulity is a huge investment in the business sector and those engaged in entrepreneurship should understand it for having harmonious relationships with clientele, he maintained.
Lauding the initiative of the business establishment in reaching out to hitherto uncovered areas, Rana wished them all the best in their endeavours and stressed upon generating jobs for young people. Such initiatives are bound to have a positive impact on the economic activities, he said, adding that entrepreneurship is a tool for youngsters pursuing careers in business creation.
The proprietors of the establishment Aijaz Qureshi dwelt upon the initiatives being taken for popularizing and making available quality home appliances in this part of the city.
Prominent among those present on the occasion Rattan Lal Gupta, Advocate, Moulana Sayeed Habib, Mohd Ashraf, Mumtaz Qureshi, Wajahat Hussain, Mohd Shafi Qureshi, Ch Mohd Aslam, Mushtaq Ahmad and others.
