CHILDLINE Jammu celebrates Human Rights Day

JAMMU, Dec 10: CHILDLINE Jammu Nodal Organization, Department of Law, University of Jammu, celebrated Human Rights Day with Children at Ward No 32 Trilokpuri Jammu. Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This year’s Human Rights Day theme is (Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Right) relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts. We will reach our common global goals only if we are able to create equal opportunities for all, address the failures exposed and exploited by COVID-19, and apply human rights standards to tackle entrenched, systematic, and intergenerational inequalities, exclusion and discrimination. Human rights are one of the most essential parts of Mankind
During the event the children were made aware about the protection against COVID-19.
They were made aware how to protect individual against the deadly virus. They were urged to follow the SOP of Government, like Social distancing, use of hand sanitizers, washing of hands and use of face masks.
On this occasion, Satpual Kalporia Corporator Jammu Municipal Corporation ward 32 was Chief Guest. In his address to the participants he urged them to protect themselves by following the COVID 19 Guidelines. The masks and ration items were also provided to children as per their nutritional needs.
