JK changing fast
12/10/2020 11:58:35 PM
The first four months of J&K Lieutenant Governor's tenure have been eventful. As head of the Union Territory LG Manoj Sinha has introduced entirely new concepts to deal with the issues confronting the people.
Sinha has infused new life in J&K's grievance redressal system. His expertise as an engineer has come handy for making the system more effective.
After taking over the reins of J&K UT, LG Sinha has given enough space to the politicians and his dynamism has led to the revival of political activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir centric politicians, who had become irrelevant post August 5, 2019, should thank LG Sinha for providing them with a chance to make a comeback.
Manoj Sinha has played a pivotal role in turning newly carved out union territory of Jammu and Kashmir into a vibrant functional unit. His vision has helped in bringing the people out of the setup which was prevalent in the erstwhile J&K State. LG Sinha has got many firsts to his credit and he deserves all the praise for it.
During the past four months the work culture in the government offices has improved a lot and the anti-graft agencies getting more teeth has created a fear among the government employees that they are being watched and they cannot take things lightly.
LG Sinha has made it clear to the officials that serving people is government's priority and if anyone fails to do so will have to face the music. The proactive approach of the Lieutenant Governor has kept all the officials on toes. He has been chairing the review meetings on the regular basis and the officers have to remain abreast with the developments as the LG's office can seek details from them about any issue at any point of time.
The anti-graft agencies that couldn't do much when the political regimes were in power have become very active as LG Sinha has given them a freehand. These agencies have acted against such people who used to believe that they are above the law. When politicians use to rule Jammu and Kashmir most of the anti-graft agencies were unable to act against the influential people as they had no teeth. However, after LG Sinha took over the reins of J&K, he made it amply clear that corruption won't be tolerated and whosoever is found involved in the corrupt practices will be dealt with as per law of the land. His leadership skills have instilled confidence among the upright officers to act confidently. J&K is changing fast.
