Director AP holds meeting on Rabi Season, fertilizers

JAMMU, Dec 10: In view of ongoing Rabi Season in Jammu Division and prepositioning of fertilizers for application in orchards in Kashmir Valley, a review meeting was held today at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu under the chairmanship of Director of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare, Jammu, Inder Jeet who is also the controller of fertilizers for JK UT. The various issues related to smooth supply of fertilizer during the Rabi 2020-21 in both divisions of the UT were discussed thread bare in the meeting.
Those who participated in the meeting included Mohd. Iqbal Choudhary, Joint Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Yadvinder Singh, Potato Development Officer, Jammu, Neeru Mahajan, Agriculture Extension Officer (Fertilizers), Vikas Sharma, Agriculture Extension Officer (Information), Akhil Vaid, Coordinator DBT JK, Bahadur Ram, UT Head IFFCO, Prem Lal, UT Head National Fertilizers Ltd. (NFL), Kanwar Jeet Singh, UT Head Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (CFCL). Speaking on the occasion Sh Inder Jeet said that the main objective of the meeting is to ensure the smooth and timely supply of fertilizer to the farmers of both divisions of the union Territory. Taking note some irregularities at wholesale level, he instructed the enforcement agency of the department to look into the matter seriously and take action against violators including cancellation of fertilizer license.
