Jammu based social activist writes to police officer to register sedition case against Farooq Abdullah

Jammu, Dec 12 : A Jammu based social activist Sukesh C Khajuria has shot off a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu reminding him about his legal and constitutional duties of taking cognizance of the complaint and necessary action in the matter.
Miffed at Jammu Police for not registering a First Information Report (FIR) against former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference President Dr Abdullah for his alleged seditious utterances on his written complaint, Khajuria, had filed a complaint with SHO of City police station, Jammu sent through speed post and received by SHO Police Station Jammu on November 4, 2020.
In his complaint to the police, the social activist has sought registration of case against Dr Farooq Abdullah under sections 121,121-A, 124-A and 505 of Indian penal Code of 1860 and other relevant provisions of law for his alleged seditious public utterances.
After waiting for a month without any action by the concerned police station, Khajuria has written a letter to SSP, Jammu regarding his complaint and requested him to order the concerned police station to register a FIR against Dr Abdullah under relevant sections.
He has also forwarded his complaint to the SSP, Jammu alongwith all necessary and relevant documents.
Khajuria stated that despite the receipt of the complaint no FIR has been registered by the SHO City Police station, Jammu forcing him to approach SSP, Jammu for registration of FIR.
The social activist in his complaint noted that on September 23, 2020, former chief minister and Lok Sabha MP, Dr Farooq Abdullah in a special interview to a Journalist Karan Thapar for the News and Opinion website namely “The Wire” which was supported and sponsored by Glen Livet books had made the following Statement, “At the moment the Kashmiri people do not feel and want to be Indian, and would rather be ruled by China, so deep was their disillusion with the Centre.”
