Even after 73 yrs of independence Lardi Pitle village without water

Udhampur, Dec 12: Believe it or not, even after over seven decades of independence village Lardi Pitle of Panchayat Kagote -B in Ramnagar area of Udhampur is without the facility of drinking water.
Sources said that pipes for water supply were laid about 10 years back but water connections were given only to 10-15 families and about 50 families were left.
“Earlier tanker was send by the department to supply water in the village since a month this facility has also been stopped,” Mindra Devi, about 80, from water starving village Lardi Pitle said adding that she never saw water in taps in her village.
She also said that ladies of the village travel 3-4 km daily to fetch water for their household chores. Women said that the concern authority as well as district administration should be find alternate for resolve our water problem.
Des Raj, Block Development Committee Chairman Ram Nagar said that he approached the Jal Shakti Department and got the reply that they have no fuel for the tanker to send water to the village. He also claimed that he had talked to top level officers including the concerned Chief with no fruitful result.
The concerned AEE Sanjeev Gupta said that they have a scheme Jal Jeewan Mission to solve the problem and water may reach the village by December 2021.
