LG Sinha exposes propaganda of Kashmir centric groups
Dares them to show one place in J&K where non-resident has purchased land

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14: The recent statement of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is a hint that there is a strong possibility of Government of India mulling to provide land and jobs rights to the people of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in near future.
Lt Governor Sinha recently hit out at Kashmir’s regional political groups and dared them to cite a single place in Jammu and Kashmir wherein any non- resident has purchased any piece of land since the abrogation of Article 370.
His statement has left the political parties like National conference, PDP and Gupkar Alliance red faced.
LG’s assertion has punctured the propaganda unleashed by these political groups over the purchase of land and protection in jobs in Jammu and Kashmir.
LG Manoj Sinha’s statement is a hint that Government of India is probably mulling to accord protection in land and jobs to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir, a demand that has been reverberating into the political woods for quite a long time. A former PDP leader commenting on LG Sinha’s statement said that the remarks are hint that a major development is likely to take place once the DDC polls are over. He added that if any such decision is taken by the Government of India, it could prove worrisome for the Kashmir’s regional political groups who have been trying to reap benefits out of the land and jobs rhetoric and making strenuous efforts to make their otherwise irrelevant politics somehow relevant on the ground. “However, the remarks from the Lt Governor seems to have dashed the hopes of these political parties. It is a very significant statement in which a person holding Jammu and Kashmir’s highest office is daring the political groups to cite one single example wherein ay any non-resident has purchased any piece of land anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. It’s a hint that the government won’t allow any such practice in future as well,” said the leader.
The political parties in Jammu and Kashmir are at present engaged in a neck to neck contest in DDC polls wherein from one side the Kashmir centric political groups like National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, CPI (M), Peoples Conference, Peoples Movement have joined hands to form a conglomerate and have called the new formation Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration or PAGD. The leaders of this group including Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti have been making a high pitched rhetoric over loss of property rights and jobs to the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
