RAJOURI, Dec 23: A webinar was organized by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, BGSBU Rajouri, on the topic "Mathematics and Ramanujan'' to mark National Mathematics Day.
At the outset of the webinar, the Head of the Department Dr. Zaheer Abbas, welcomed the key speaker Prof. A.P. Singh (Central University of Rajasthan) and other participants.
In his address, Dr. Zaheer talked briefly about the importance of celebrating National Mathematics Day.
Later, the key speaker, Prof. A.P. Singh discussed at length about the life of Ramanaujan and his exceptional contribution to the mathematical world.
He also discussed in detail the viewpoint of other mathematicians of that time about Ramanaujan's great intellect.
During the lecture, many students, scholars and faculty members of various universities including University of Jammu were present.
At the end of the programme vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rustam Abass. |
