Kishtwar, Dec 23: After passing various hitch ups, the National Conference in Kishtwar District manage to wrenched prestigious Kishtwar DDC constituency from BJP by huge margin of 2265 votes and helps the NC to comfortably cross the majority mark towards forming DDC in Kishtwar District.
As per the details available with Early Times, after 19 hour long marathon counting process, the Returning officer Kishtwar 6 constituency declared the result at 3.17 am in the morning with final announcement made at 3.45 am declaring NC candidate Zakir Hussain Butt as winner from Kishtwar DDC constituency against BJPs Raj Kumar Shan.
Earlier the counting was halted by the BJP, PDP, Apni Party candidates alleging foul play after two votes each in polling stations of Puhie Khurd ( 271 votes) and FCI Kuleed (352 votes) which were later counted separately after two votes each from the two ballot boxes without serial numbers were declared as invalid paying way for declaration of final result of marathon counting process.
After going through various rule books, the Returning Officer started the counting of votes in absence of the BJP, PDP and Apni Party counting agents and whole process were recovered in video camera.
Even though it took around 19 long hours to declared the final results, the enthusiastic supporters in hundreds were seen standing in bone chilling weather conditions including the women and children’s.
As soon as the results were declared, the NC supporters erupted in joy as with the victory of Butt from Kishtwar, NC manage to cross the hurdle towards forming DDC Chairman from Kishtwar District.
NC won Warwan, Dachhan, Palmar, Nagsini, Inderwal , Kishtwar and Thakrie while Congress won three and BJP also three.
After analysing the victory of NC candidate from Kishtwar, around 1400 staunch BJP voters cast their votes in favour of Butt while majority of BJP voters preferred to stay away from voting process to show their anger towards the failure of the local BJP leadership in fulfilling their promises made by the party, particularly with unemployed youths of the District.
