Infighting in BJP comes to fore; ex-minister blamed for party’s defeat in Kalakote
12/27/2020 12:14:23 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Dec 26: ‘Internal sabotage’ within BJP gradually coming to the fore as defeated party candidates have started exposing those who have worked against official nominees.
A day after party candidates exposed a Poonch based leader for working overtime to ensure defeat to party on all DDCs seats of the district, another BJP leader shifted all blames on former minister and ex-MLA from Kalakote Abdul Gani Kohli for defeat of party candidates on three seats of Rajouri district.
Thakur Randhir Singh, younger brother of NC stalwart late Thakur Rashpal Singh, exposed former minister Abdul Gani Kohli for sabotaging party in the DDCs elections.
In a rally, Randhir Singh said that Kohli has openly campaigned for ‘Gupkar Gang’ to ensure defeat of party candidates on three seats of Rajouri district namely Kalkote, Dhangri and Dhoongi. He said that Union Ministers and central leaders, who campaigned in during DDCs elections, were very much aware that Kohli was supporting ‘Gupkar Gang’.
He demanded that Kohli should be sacked from the primary membership of the party.
Despite winning the Kalakote assembly constituency in the 2014 Assembly elections and getting a huge lead in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP lost all three seats which fall under this constituency.
Earlier some BJP leaders have pointed fingers towards a Poonch based leader, who is a blue-eyed boy of some Jammu based leaders, for working in favour of ‘Gupkar Gang’. It is widely alleged that this Poonch based leader has worked overtime to ensure defeat of party candidates on all the DDCs seats of Poonch.
