District Skill Committee Rajouri discusses formulation of SDP

RAJOURI, Jan 1: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Friday chaired a meeting of the District Skill Committee to discuss the modalities for formulation of the Skill Development Plan(SDP) in the district.
Various aspects regarding the training of aspirants in varied skill trades were discussed threadbare in the meeting. The meeting also deliberated on various aspects regarding district specific skill requirements, viability of available schemes besides scope of skill development pertaining to various departments.
The DDC said that skill development is the need of the hour to create an empowered workforce with the help of various schemes and training courses. He also said that skill enables the aspirants to achieve self-employment and provide employment to others and become job creators instead of job seekers.
He asked the concerned members to identify the potential areas in which training or skill can be provided to the unemployed youth to create an empowered workforce in the district. Besides, he urged upon all the concerned officers to assess demands and requirements of specific skills in the local market and rationalize available resources accordingly.
He called upon the members to put in place concerted efforts to create an enabling environment for productive skill development of the youth so that avenues of employment are augmented in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; General Manager DIC, Manzoor Hussain; Programme Officer ICDS, Kartar Singh; District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir; Chief Education Officer, Gulzar Hussain; Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Principal ITI, Sajad Hussain; District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh; Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Inzar Rana; Manager District Lead Bank, Jyoti Prakash Sharma and other concerned members of the committee.
