DC resolves bottlenecks impending progress of works

RAMBAN, Jan 4: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today chaired a meeting of officers, representatives of NHAI and construction agencies working on a prestigious four laning project of NH-44 to resolve land acquisition and other confronting issues besides reviewing the progress on widening work.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Haseeb ur Rehman; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Project Director (PD) NHAI, Parshotam Kumar; ACR, Dhirendra Sharma; SDM, Banihal, Zaheer Abbas Bhat; XENs, DFOs, Tehsildar besides the officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
The DC reviewed section wise progress on the four-laning work including Nashri-Ramban and Ramban-Banihal sections besides reviewing location wise status of land acquisition cases and removal of structures from acquired land.
The DDC informed that more than 95% land acquisition cases have been completed, while only new acquisition cases submitted by the intending agencies are in process. He directed the construction agencies to submit the completion dates of ongoing construction works of bridges and other such projects.
He directed the XEN, TLMDL to ensure shifting of identified towers to safer places to avoid impediment of road construction work. The DC also directed the concerned authorities to make funds available for the same. He asked the PD and ADC to conduct PNC for the amicable settlement of land acquisition cases so that agencies can execute the work speedily.
Representatives of construction agencies highlighted the issues hindering the pace of progress including identification of new dumping sites, removal of acquired structures, cutting of trees besides other local issues.
The DC resolved most of the issues on the spot besides directed the Tehsildars and SDMs to speed up the process to provide dumping sites on locations identified by the agencies at various places. He asked the construction agencies to station adequate men and machinery at all identified vulnerable locations to deal with emergency situations for smooth passage of the traffic.
