Bird Flu pandemic takes toll on crows | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: Several crows were found dead at Round area of Udhampur district over the past few days amid the Bird Flu scare in the country. In this connection District Development Commissioner Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla has constituted the team of the Wild Life Department and Animal Husbandry department to ascertain the cause of death. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Inderjeet Singh informed that samples of death cases have been collected and sent to the Research Wing of Animal Husbandry Department at Jammu. He further added that the exact cause of death is not known yet but from last 4 to 5 days there was incessant heavy rain in the area and temperature was decreased to very low and deaths may be due to hypothermia. District administration appealed to the general public not to panic, rapid response teams have been constituted and put in place to take required actions. |
